LaGuardia Community College is based in Queens, NY. They serve 50K students a year with most of their population being mostly low income, immigrant, and young adult students. They help their students in many ways over a student's career pathway with varying levels of service.

A study says that 1 in 8 of teens and young adults are considered ‘opportunity youth’ ( http://www.measureofamerica.org/disconnected-youth/ ). The term applies to young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 who are neither working nor in school.

WHO WE ARE

BankWork$ was started in 2006 in Los Angeles by The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation with the goal of training young adults from low income and minority communities for lasting careers in the financial services industry. The program is part of a five-year, $4-million national expansion in partnership with Bank of America, U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo.
