Following the discussion, you will be guided through a workshop designed to help employers navigate the apprenticeship design and implementation process. The workshop also provides attendees with comprehensive resources for ongoing help and support in the apprenticeship building process. This webinar is designed for both employers and educators.

Speakers & Panelists

Beverly RiddickBeverly M. Riddick is a veteran nonprofit leader who serves as Executive Director of the Ready To Work Business Collaborative(RTWBC). The RTWBC is an employer-led coalition whose mission is to help employers achieve their goals by enabling them to see the business advantage in hiring ready to work talent who are frequently overlooked despite being upskilled or re-skilled to meet the needs of today’s evolving economy. Riddick’s extensive background in community revitalization includes serving as Executive Director of Homes of Montclair Ecumenical Corp. (HOMECorp) where she developed and implemented affordable housing programs and wealth building initiatives targeted at low, moderate, and middle income families and working as a real estate lender/workout banking specialist.
Michele ChangMichele Chang is Vice President of Programs and Services at Hope Street Group, a national nonprofit organization focused on ensuring all Americans have access to economic opportunity. Previously, she served as Acting Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff at the U.S. Small Business Administration where she oversaw the day-to-day operations, personnel, and decision-making processes at the Agency, which has more than 2,000 employees in all 50 states. Ms. Chang also previously worked at McKinsey & Company, PricewaterhouseCoopers, PepsiCo and Radius, a tech start-up based in San Francisco.
Amy JarnaginAmy Jarnagin is a Program Manager at Wells Fargo who participating in the U.S. Department of Labor’s ApprenticeshipUSA initiative that includes a network of more than 150,000 employers in more than 1,000 occupations. The initiative is dedicated to developing a new generation of workers to help the U.S. succeed in the 21st-century economy. She is currently focused on veteran transition programming at ApprenticeshipUSA, with plans to expand to recruit all diverse segments in 2018. This program will be available for internal and external candidates.
Melinda NicholsMelinda Nichols has been involved in the apprenticeship community for over 45 years. She was the first female graduate of the carpenter apprenticeship program in Washington State. She was a management member of the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council for 23 years. She ran construction projects and programs for 15 years and taught and managed pre apprenticeship programs for 15 years. She is a current consultant for several apprenticeship grants.
 
Eric EastonEric Easton serves as the Senior Program Coordinator at Central Piedmont Community College. For over five years he has been the Apprenticeship2000 coordinator, and was instrumental in the starting of the Apprenticeship Charlotte dual educational program at CPCC. He works with industry partners to develop and maintain their apprenticeship programs, and is heavily involved with the student success of the apprenticeship students. Mr. Easton holds a Masters in Higher Education Leadership from Appalachian State University.
Bob RomanelliRaised in NY, Bob Romanelli is a Toolmaker/Machinist by trade for 45 years. After graduating from Boards of Cooperative Education Services, he began his career as a Tool and Die Maker & Prototype Machinist. Relocating to North Carolina in 1989, Bob continued his career as a Prototype Machinist/Designer for Datasouth Computer Corp., Daetwyler and Equipment & Supply. Bob was originally introduced to Apprenticeships while at Daetwyler. He returned to Daetwyler in 2012 and has been the Apprenticeship Coordinator and student mentor for Apprenticeship 2000 since then.
